Valedictorian of his Bachelor in Optics and Optometry, he gained his Master in Optometry and Vision Sciences by the Faculty of Optics and Optometry of Terrassa (FOOT) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2010. He obtained his PhD, International Doctorate, Cum Laude in optical engineering with the topic "Myopia control with radial refractive gradient contact lenses" in 2015.
Jaume is a member of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialist (ISCLS), a Fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control IAOM, and Chairman of the fellowship of the European section (EuroK).
He holds twice the Spaniard National Council of Optics and Optometry Award for his work on "Myopia Control with Contact Lenses" in 1992 and "A New Contact Lens Overnight Orthokeratology Design for Hyperopia" in 2010.
Jaume has several Patents in Orthokeratology, on myopia control lenses, and keratoconus contact lens designs. He works as a clinician at the Centro Medico Teknon in Barcelona, Spain.
He is an associate professor for specialty contact lenses at the Faculty of Optics and Optometry of Terrassa University and an associate professor at the University of Montreal, and he is the author of several papers published in the scope of the orthokeratology and myopia control.
