Dr.Dimitra Makrynioti, Optician-Optometrist, BSc(Hons),MSc,PhD,FBCLA,UNSW Visiting Fellow is an Associate Professor in the School of Health Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Patras (UoP), Greece, on “Contact Lenses' Optics & Optometry with emphasis on Corneal Morphology”. She is in charge of the Optics & Optometry UoP Curriculum & the ed.CL & Optometry Lab. She is also a freelance scientific OOCL consultant, as well as a Certified in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) from The Flourishing Centre, New York, U.S.A., certified Officer in Chief Well-being, a certified Introductory Life Coach and a trainee in Synthetic Psychotherapy. She has been a Research Assistant & Visiting Scientist within Eurolens Research, Manchester, UK, an Occasional Lecturer in Optometry, University of Manchester, UK, a chief Optometrist-CL Practitioner-Optician in national Eye Clinics & Practices, & a multiple volunteer: Manchester Eye Hospital, UoP Ophthalmology Clinic, Special Olympics Eye Clinic & more. She has been a multiple grants recipient: Fulbright Research Scholar, SUNY College of Optometry, New York; American Academy of Optometry Award; Erasmus International; Erasmus+ grants. She is a fellow & member of BCLA (British CL Association), IACLE (International Association of CL Educators), EAOO (European Academy of Optics & Optometry) & national Greek OO associations. She has also been an IACLE Ambassador & a current Visiting Fellow of the School of Optometry & Vision Science, UNSW Medicine, Sydney, Australia. She has frequently chaired, being invited & presented in National & International conferences. Her interests are CLs, Ocular & Corneal Morphology, Anterior Eye Health, DED, Optometry, & Applied Positive Psychology, Well-being, Resilience & Flourishing
